On successful completion of this course you will be issued with a Food Safety Supervisors Certificate by the NSW Food Authority and a Statement of Attainment.
 

It is a NSW government requirement (under the Food Act), that certain retail food businesses that process and sell food that is ready to eat, potentially hazardous and not sold and served in the suppliers original packaging, have at least one designated food safety supervisor responsible for implementing safe food handling. This requirement is enforced by the NSW Food Authority and local councils. This legislation protects patrons from foodbourne illnesses and satisfies the legal requirements for Food Safety Supervisor training for retail food businesses in NSW.

The designated person is required to take a lead role in supervising food safety for the business. They must.

  • Hold the required competencies
  • Have the ability to supervise food handling practices in the food business
  • Be reasonably available at all times the food business is operating
  • Have the authority to supervise and give instructions to food handlers
 

This is a fast paced, industry specific course designed for people who are currently working in the Hospitality Industry.

Applicants who feel they can achieve two units of competency in a one day course or have completed
these competencies prior to 1st January 2007 and need to update their qualification will be suited to this course.

Course Assessment

This course encourages discussion and interaction through group exercises. Competency is assessed by successfully completing activities, written and practical assessments. The assessments are conducted in English.

Course Commencement

You must arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time for registration and ID checks.
The course closes for entry 10 minutes after the scheduled start time. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be admitted and a rescheduling fee of 50% of the full course fee applies to book another course date.
