Food Hygiene
Food business operators are required by law, to ensure that food handlers receive appropriate supervision and training in food hygiene in line with their work activity and should enable them to handle food safely.
Training your staff and managers in hygiene best practices is an important step to developing a culture of food safety. Failing to do so increases the risk of food contamination and the public’s poor health. In turn, this can lead to customer dissatisfaction, potentially huge legal costs and the loss of your good reputation and market share.
Contact KST to discover how our food hygiene training can help you avoid problems, ensure your regulatory compliance, and protect consumers.
This course is also known as the Food Handlers Certificate Course.
- SITXFSA001 - Use Hygienic Practices For Food Safety
Personal hygiene practices apply to all personnel operating at all levels within the hospitality and retail food industry.
This course provides the skills and knowledge to follow predetermined hygiene procedures, to identify and control simple hazards and take particular hygiene measures to ensure the non-contamination of food.
Food safety is nationally legislated by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 which provides for the operation of a statutory authority known as Food Standards Australia New Zealand. The Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, (the Code), developed by this authority contains an individual standard for food safety practices. A large component of that standard deals with the health and hygiene of food handler’s, customers, colleagues and self.
